Additional Information: Glafo - Glass Research, working internationally with glass research, development, training and technical assistance, mainly for glass manufacturing, glass processing and glass-using companies. It can for instance apply to art and household glass, container glass, flat glass (construction, automotive and decorative glass), mineral wool and the interface with other materials. Our work is carried out as projects or assignments to our members and other clients. We have the Secretariat of the NGF , the Nordic Glass Technology. General information about the glass can be found in our FAQ . New optical profilometer at Glafo Profilometer can be used to examine all surfaces that are of importance for quality, performance, appearance and efficiency. Typical applications include failure analysis or to investigate the friction and wear affects materials. The optical profilometer can be used to characterize the non-contact surfaces in 3D. This model gives especially good opportunity to study large samples of up to several centimeters. The resolution is down to 0.5 microns laterally and better than 0.15 nanometers in height. Read more here where there are examples from water polishing project, and automotive industries. Nordic Glass Technical Society, NGF, founded in 1949 and is a nonprofit organization for glass techniques. NGF's target is to increase and deepen the knowledge of glass from a technical and scientific point of view and to promote contact and cooperation between individuals and associations inside and outside the Nordic countries. The association has both personal and supportive (corporate) members. Glafo research libraries have moved to Växjö University Library. The collection contains about 1000 books on the glass chemistry, physics, glass technology and related subjects. Växjö University has long had a limited collection of such things as different glass techniques, and artists. The books are now for the first time become available in a Web-based directory of makers and the public. Link to Linnaeus University catalog here . http://lnu.se/ub |
