| Additional Information: The Fine Arts College of Shanghai University, founded in 1983, is a comprehensive institution of higher learning and is multi-disciplinary in nature. Located in the beautiful new campus, the college boasts modern teaching-and-research facilities. Presently, the college consists of six divisions: Art Design, Traditional Chinese Painting, Oil Painting, Sculpture, Art History and Architectural Design. Over 400 courses are offered under the respective headings of: Visual Communication Design, Environmental Design, Decorative Design, Advertisement Design, Architectural Design (Arts), Urban Planning, Arts and Technology of Convention and Exhibition, It offers full-time programs at both undergraduate and postgraduate level (Ph.D. and Master Programs) to both domestic students and students from Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and other countries of the world. The college has also established the Department of Continuing Education and the Department for Higher Vocational and Secondary Specialized Education, which provide education to working students and junior middle school graduates respectively. These programs lead to corresponding diplomas including postgraduate, undergraduate, junior college, and secondary specialized education diplomas. Currently, the college has more than 2,800 students at different levels. There are 190 faculty members and staff. Among the 130 faculty members, 56 of them are professors and associate professors, and many of the faculty members are distinguished artists and designers. Many artists and designers famous at home and abroad have also been invited to give lectures and work as part-time faculty here. The college has a professional library, an Institute of Art Creation, a Public Art Experimental Center. The Institute of Art Creation has an Art Exhibition Center, Cai Guanshen International Distance Arts Exchange Center, and a Classic Collection Room. The Public Art Experimental Center includes Studios for Ceramic Art, Glass Art, Printmaking, Multimedia, Synthetic Material Plastic Art, Oil Painting Restoration, Urban Experience, Exhibition and Convention Experiment, and other studios for teaching. The college has established faculty studios in Paris, France to facilitate faculty members’ teaching, research and creation. | ||
