Hello all from East Falls Glassworks.
* First of all, thanks for making our grand opening such a success. It
was really nice to see
the support from the glassblowing community. You can check out pictures
from the event
on Tony's web site
http://www.glassblower.info/east-falls-glassworks/east-falls-glassworks.html.
* We have our first monthly 'Community Day' scheduled for the first
Saturday in February.
Our plan is to have both gloryholes going from noon-9:00 and provide
free blowtime for
members of the local glassblowing community. We intend for this to be a
monthly event
to be held on the first Saturday of each month. It will also be
coordinated with other events
happening within the Sherman Mills complex, so there should be some
other stuff to do as
well.
* There are still a few openings in our February classes. 'Introductory
Glassblowing' is
offered for Monday, Wednesday or Thursday evenings. We also have a
really cool
'Production Line' intermediate class which will be taught be Jennifer
Pagliarini of Wheaton
Village. There are a couple of spots available for this class as well.
There are full details
about the class offerings posted on our website (www.eastfallsglass.com)
or you can call
us @ 215-908-7924. If you've got any friends who may be interested in
glassblowing, feel
free to pass this information along.
* Please consider us, if you are a local glass artist looking for a
place to make work. We are
located close to Manayunk (Between Manayunk and Center City, near the
Rt.1 / Rt.76
intersection). We've tried to create a facility that can accomodate
almost any style of glassblowing;
we are melting Spruce Pine and have a really nice garage, Exact hand
torches etc...
Thanks!
