East Falls Glassworks is open to the public for an open house
celebration this Saturday, April 1st.
We will be open from noon till 9:00 PM. All visiting glassblowers are
invited to make work during
the event, we will have both gloryholes and the garage running all day.
If you haven't had the chance
to check us out, this is the perfect opportunity. There will be
glassblowing demonstrations all day.
We have openings in a few classes starting in April and May. Please let
us know ASAP if you
are interested in one of these.
* Introductory Glassblowing I (4 weeks) - Self explanatory. April,
Monday or Wednesday nights.
* Fun With Glass (4 weeks) - April, Tuesday or Thursday nights. Taught
by Owen Pach, this class will
explore non-traditional ways of working with glass. The class will
include techniques such as
incorporation of copper parts into glass sculpture, solid sculpting
glass and sand-casted vessels.
This class is recommended for those who have taken the Intro I class or
have equivalent experience.
Since the emphasis is on quite different techniques, we expect that
students will significantly more
experience will enjoy the class as well.
* Drinking Vessels with Chris Lydon (8 weeks) - May and June, Monday
nights. This highly
technical class will explore the rich tradition of drinking vessels from
different traditions of
glass-making. This class is for Intermediate to Advanced students.
Thanks!
