This coming Saturday - Join Us for
the Hotshop Hoedown! As Saturday approaches, I thought I would
send along some more details about the first ever Hotshop
Hoedown. This is shaping up to be a great event for glass
blowers and glass enthusiasts alike!

Official Hoedown Press Release Saturday, July 26th from 3:00 to
9:30 pm

Have you ever seen glass blown? Have you ever tried it for
yourself? Here's your chance to experience the awe that is
glassblowing and enter a raffle to win a free lesson at East
Falls Glassworks. This Saturday, July 26th from 3:00 to 9:30 pm,
the staff and members of the glass studio will demonstrate the
techniques of the art of the hot process. Witness white-hot
flames and expert handling techniques transform liquid glass
into beautifully crafted vases and bowls in an array of hues and
colors.

Glassblowing demos will be performed by resident artists George
-ann F. Greth, Jon Goldberg, Eric Jennings, Zach Puchowitz, Rich
Tuttle, Phil Vinson and other local artists.

The entertainment continues outside the studio with live music by
the experimental band Opus (4:00 - 5:00 pm) and Smokehouse
headlining with bluegrass (5:30 - 8:00). Rib cook-offs will be
held at 4:00 and at 7:00, and there will be entertainment for
adults and children alike.

Enter the live or silent auctions for a chance to take home fine
arts and crafts, as well as handmade glass pieces made in the
studio and glassblowing lessons. Live auction starts at 8:15.

Proceeds from the auction will go toward doubling the capacity of
the East Falls Glassworks glass furnace and making the glass
studio even more available to the public.

Call for Donations There is still time to drop off a donation for
the silent and live auction. All donations are welcome, there
will be more than just glass art. We welcome donors to display
any postcards or information at the event.

Thanks to Sherman Mills Portions of the event will be possible
thanks to the generosity of Sherman Mills. We are privileged to
be part of the Sherman Mills community and will have information
about the Mills available at the Hoedown.
