Glassworks [http://www.eastfallsglass.com]
3510 Scotts Lane
Philadelphia, Pa. 19129
(215) 908-7924 Summer Open House - This Weekend! A
reminder to all the friends of East Falls Glassworks that we are
having an open house this Saturday (June 11) from 1pm-6pm. It's
a family friendly event with something for everyone. There will
be artists demonstrating their craft, glass for sale in all
price ranges, and we'll also be pulling onlookers up to try
their hand at making something out of molten glass. If you've
never seen it before, you'll be amazed. If you're a seasoned
glassblower then come to find a partner and make something for
free. If you're just interested in finding a gift for someone,
we'll have you covered too. Hope to see everyone there!
P.S. Due to an event later in the evening that the Sherman Mills
is hosting, parking will be restricted to specific areas. Street
parking in from of the studio on Scotts Lane is always free and
usually has ample spaces. However, if nothing is available in
front, please check in with us for directions to another lot
just around the corner.
Classes Update Keep your eyes on the website
[http://www.eastfallsglass.com/classes.php] for more classes to

are just a couple:

These are two week long camps that can be signed up together for
a discount and which are a great introduction to glass designed
specifically for teens. Many different ways of working glass
will be covered, from fusing, to casting, to working at the
bench. A wonderful opportunity for any budding artists. Casting
class (Tuesdays 6:30pm-9:30pm Jul 12, Jul 19, Jul 26, Aug 2, Aug

>From simple sand molds that are quick and easy to make to plaster
molds that can capture the finest of details, this class is all
about casting glass! Guided instruction will allow even complete
beginners to immortalize objects in clear or colored glass.
Simple, intuitive and, of course, lots of fun!
Summer Special As a special incentive to help our renters deal
with the heat, we are offering these special rental rates for
the month of July and August: Small Gloryhole @ $35/hour
(normally $40), Medium @ $40/hour (normally $45) and Large @ $50
/hour (normally $55). We suggest using the $5 per hour savings on
Gatorade. This discount does not apply to folks already renting
time at the 'bulk-rate'.
Video Updates If you are not able to visit us in person, we've
posted some new videos shot at the studio. Check out the
