<p class="MsoNormal"><span

Artist, Don Gonzalez, will be conducting weekend
workshops in glassblowing and workshops casting glass in sand from
March 1 thru
April 30 in his studio in Stockton, New Jersey.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span
style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Verdana; color: black;">In
addition to producing glass art in his studio for 30
years, Don has 17 years experience teaching glassblowing and sculpture
in glass
on the college level. His work is in significant museum collections
including the White House, and he is the recipient of four artist
fellowships
from the New Jersey Council on the Arts and a fellowship from the
Creative
Glass Center of America. <o:p></o:p><span style=""> </span><o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span
style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Verdana; color: black;">In the
glassblowing workshops, you will acquire a working
knowledge of how to blow vessels with hot glass. The first two days
are
about learning basic control of the glass and on the third day we cover
a
variety of color application techniques. Each workshop is limited to
four
students. Cost is $325 for three days, friday-sunday, 10am -4pm. <o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span

<p class="MsoNormal"><span
style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Verdana; color: black;">Also
available is a one day private intensive which will give you
an equal amount of access to me and the glass as you would get in a
three day
workshop. Cost is $400. This arrangement is ideal for those who
can't free up three days. <o:p></o:p></span></p>
<span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Verdana; color: black;"> A
one day intensive is also an ideal situation for those who
have had some exposure to working with hot glass. A private intensive
in
my studio will help refine basic blowing skills and save you numerous
hours of
trial and error that learning glassblowing skills requires.<o:p></o:p></span>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span
style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Verdana; color: black;">SAND CAST
GLASS WORKSHOPS<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span
style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Verdana; color: black;">In the
sand casting glass workshops, we design in the negative, in
sand, and pour hot glass into that negative space. The result is
sand cast glass 3-D sculpture or tile. You may also design
sculpture employing multiple components cast in glass to create larger
glass
sculpture. Colored glass and copper wire and copper sheet images can
be
included on your castings surface or encased inside your casting. I
can
provide an information sheet about sand casting that will help you plan
your
mold making. Sand casting glass is an exciting process for creating
sculptural glass which doesn't require the skills of a glassblower.
Casting classes are two days and the revised cost is $200. Contact me
if
you need guidance and advice in preparing copper inclusions and hot
glass
inclusions for your casting weekend.<o:p></o:p> <o:p></o:p></span></p>
