Why the Pi Divider don't work right.........
z' is less than z by
the thickness of one
cane
n= number of canes
x= diameter of cane
y= nx= Πz
z'= Diameter of inner circle,
      or moil diameter
y'= Πz', or perimeter of moil

How many canes short should
we set the Pi Divider?

y=Πz, so
z=y/Π
z'= z-x
y'= Πz'
   = Π(z-x)
   = Π(y/Π-x)
   =y-Πx

Since y=nx,

y'=nx-Πx
so, distance short to set the Pi Divider, d, is
y-y'
y=nx
y'= nx-Πx
d =nx-(nx-Πx)
d=Πx

x= diameter of one cane, so set the Pi Divider a bit more than three canes short
EVERY TIME, EVERY LENGTH, EVERY THICKNESS
(theoretically).

If you are picking up a slab, or murini setup, set the Pi Divider short by
Π times the thickness of your pickup
y
x
z
z'
