1,000 Degrees and Rising!

 Our furnace heating up. <http://i1.cmail1.com/ei/y/A5/DA9/68F/csimport/cropped_1.092851.jpg>

10 months ago, East Falls Glassworks had no option but to close its doors and vacate the space to allow for repairs to 3510 Scotts Lane. Since then, our furnace has sat idle and cold... until just a few days ago. Now, it's well on the way to the 2,100 degree temperature that keeps over 800 pounds of glass molten and ready to be transformed into anything you can imagine!

After nearly a year of waiting for the construction workers to do what was needed - and you have to come check it out in person!!! - you'd better believe we're itching to make some glass.

So, if you've one of the hundreds of people who has written to us in that time or left messages asking about classes, private events, or commissioning a custom piece of glass... now's finally your chance.
Or, if you're one of the people who's already part of the East Falls Glassworks community and are dying to get back in and pick up where we all left off... It's time to get out your jacks and scrub the rust off those blades!

Along with the structural renovations, we've got a fresh coat of paint, a brand new website in development featuring online registration and other useful features, and other projects in the works to make EFG even better than before.

Class Enrollment is Open

Although the new website isn't quite ready yet, classes are posted at <http://eastfallsglassworks.cmail1.com/t/y-l-irihnd-djdktiil-f/> http://www.eastfallsglass.com/classes.php. You can sign up now; we've switched to super-easy online enrollment. Payment can be made via Paypal or by reserving a spot online and contacting us to make arrangements. We are expecting these classes to fill-up quickly.

You can also call us at (215) 908-7924 and will quite likely actually get someone on the phone instead of a message saying that we're going to be closed for a while longer. Exciting stuff, right? Can't wait to hear from you and have the place rocking again.

More News Coming Soon

We are planning a party to celebrate the reopening of the studio, stay tuned and we'll let you know once all the details are figured out. A great way to keep up-to-date with the happenings at the studio is our Facebook page: <http://eastfallsglassworks.cmail1.com/t/y-l-irihnd-djdktiil-z/> https://www.facebook.com/eastfallsglass.

But Why?

  <http://i3.cmail1.com/ei/y/A5/DA9/68F/csimport/541946_10152290173229267_1547579282_n.094320.jpg>

Here's the reason why we were closed; this is an in-progress picture of the structural repairs being performed on the columns in the basement. Our building dates back to the mid 1800's, and years of termites and water in the basement had taken their toll. Those big metal contraptions were 'wrapped' around each column and then secured with pilings going many feet into the ground.

Here's hoping that the past 10 months have been happy and productive for all of you too.

- Jon, Nikolaj, and all your friends at East Falls Glassworks
