Hunterdon County Glass Artist Don Gonzalez will host a show and sale of his
designs of hand-blown glass vessels and sculptures for Thanksgiving weekend.
Don also collects and deals in important 20th century Venetian glass, and
over 300 vessels and sculptures from his collection will be on view and for
sale November 24, 25, 26th, 12-5 pm, at his home and studio, located at 65
Upper Creek Road, Stockton, up-creek from the historic Green Sergeant
Covered Bridge.

 

Don has received four Artist Fellowships for demonstrated excellence from
the NJ State Council on the Arts, and served a term on the Arts Council
Board of Directors.  His work is represented in museum collections across
the country, including the NJ State Museum, the Newark Museum, the Michener
Art Museum, the Museum of American Glass in Millville and numerous private
collections.  Don recently exhibited his cast glass sculptures in Venice,
Italy, which for him is a compliment of the highest order, as they have an
abundance of their own Murano glass to show and sell.

For the coming winter and spring Don will be conducting weekend workshops in
glassblowing and creating vessels and sculpture using the sand casting
technique.  In the glassblowing workshops students have a hands on
experience of how to blow Glass vessels and learn a variety of color
applications.
